The DROP USER statement is used to delete a user from a MySQL database.
Syntax of DROP USER statement in MySQL
DROP USER user_name;
Options and arguments of the statement
- user_name – the user name to be deleted from the MySQL database.
Let’s consider an example of how to delete a user in MySQL using the DROP USER operator.
For example:
DROP USER 'samvyl'@'localhost';
In this example, the DROP USER operator has removed the samvyl user from the MySQL database.
Deleting multiple users
You can delete more than one user at a time in MySQL. You will use the DROP USER operator to remove multiple users by separating them with a comma.
For example:
DROP USER 'samvyl'@'localhost', 'sergio'@'localhost';
This DROP USER example will remove samvyl and sergio users from the MySQL database.
